The Diary On the Fifth Floor - Raisha Lalwani

The Diary on the Fifth FloorThe Diary on the Fifth Floor by Raisha Lalwani
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Firstly the cover of the book is extremely attractive . It gives you a thriller / horror essence . But the story is nothing close to it .

The story is of Savannah Khanna 25 years old, depressed individual who feels uncomfortable in the surrounding world and visit a psychiatrist  to get help for the extreme negativity in her life. Her entire feeling has been written down in her diary which she gives to the doctor unwillingly. How will the doctor help her to get rid of so much hatred towards the world is what the entire book about.

The diary is of her thoughts written , about the world, and the doctor is her outlet.

Each chapter is like a slap to our face, showing the reality how mankind has become at present .

Example: When there is a death in the family, and someone post  FB status RIP. ( do you think it is necessary to let the world know?)

The book focuses on the mental health and how we should perceive the world. The more negativity we feed to ourself the more upset we will remain in our life.

Chapter 20, Princess gave me  a shiver - A woman  leaves her infant at home under care of  a nanny to resume with her job only tofind out the horror  happening with her baby.

Overall it's a good read. Enjoyed reading the harsh reality.
